(She is “T2” because she’s the second “T” name, not because she just turned 2, by the way.)
Anyway, she just turned 2. So we had the “small”, family-only birthday party that has become the tradition for our family.
Small is a relative term, since most of our immediate family lives in town.
Having not-too-long ago spent “real” money on a playset for the backyard, we decided that we could scale back a little bit on birthday presents this year, so the hunt was on for an inexpensive fun gift.
By the way, does anyone else out there find it awfully challenging to find presents for child #3, or 4, or whatever? I mean, we bought out the stores with T1, and collected books galore as he grew, then along came C, and we got our girly fix with dresses and dolls. Now we’re on child #3 – she doesn’t need ANYTHING!
(Um, yeah, my kids are spoiled. I’m going to blame it on the grandparents. And “Aunt Mamber.” It sure isn’t OUR fault.)
So, well, I think we finally found the right idea for this year…..
A high chair from Grandma and Papa to feed her babies in (bottle and bowl and spoon courtesy of T1 and C)
A stroller from Mommy and Daddy to walk her babies in,
A rocking chair from Nonna and Grandpa to rock her babies in. (We’ll work on holding and rocking techniques later, I believe!)
and a mini pack ‘n play to put her babies to sleep in,
complete with blankets and incredibly loud lullaby singing.
Happy, Happy Birthday, Baby
Some birthdays you just get it right…and isn’t it fun?
